Man web 3 is way easier than last year. Now we are just learning about SEO and search engines and stuff like that. Right now me and James are laughing our heads off about what happened yestarday after school, you don’t get to know cause you might not get it. Well back to work got to keep up or else I might get behind.

Another certification to go through this year hoping its not as hard. We learned in class about directories such as directories and SERP (search engine results page). Then we learned about crawlers and spiders that search keywords off of web pages. The biggest and most powerful search engine of all is Google and a lot of other search engines go off of Google’s search technology which is what makes it the best of all the search engines because its answers are also a lot of other search engines answers as well. These are the sites that Google provides results for: AOL, Netscape, IWon, Teoma, AskJeeves and Yahoo! The Google directory is comprised of listings from the ODP and the Dmoz.

Now spiders and crawlers are what search engines send out to find sites with keywords that people put in to search. The search engines need these spider and crawlers to get websites and without them it would be a lot harder. The crawlers roam the internet storing links and information about each page they visit. Once the site is found by the search engine, crawlers scan the entire site. While scanning, the crawler visits the web page, reads it and then follows link to other pages within the site. Crawlers and spiders as you can see are very important for web pages to operate and find keywords that the user is looking for. For example Google uses 4 spiders to scan over hundreds of pages in just a matter of seconds (that is amazingly fast).
